Interference suppression with minimal signal distortion

چکیده
We propose a two-stage adaptive filtering process for canceling narrowband interference from a wideband signal process, based on a reference signal consisting of a Doppler shifted version of the interference. The first stage uses the timevarying behavior of NLMS with large step-size to produce an estimate of the interference signal, in which the Doppler shift is mitigated. The second stage uses NLMS with small step-size, as an approximation to the Wiener filter, in order to modify amplitude and phase of the Doppler-mitigated reference signal so that an estimate of the interference signal is produced suitable for interference cancellation. Simulations with a wideband QPSK signal corrupted by strong sinusoidal interference, for which a Doppler shifted reference is available, show the performance of the proposed approach in terms of signal-to-interference ratio and bit-error rate improvement.

Powerline Interference Suppression in High-Resolution ECG
The efficacy of four powerline interference suppression methods was tested for application in highresolution electrocardiogram (ECG). The goal was minimal distortion of the original signal micro-potential waveform, combined with maximum noise reduction. Simulated low amplitude His-bundle potentials were used for the evaluation. Several objective parameters were measured, such as mean square err...
متن کاملEstimation of harmonic interference parameters of surface-NMR signal using an adaptive method and residual signal power
Surface nuclear magnetic resonance (surface-NMR) method is a well-known tool for determining the water-bearing layers and subsurface resistivity structure. Harmonic interference is an inevitable interference in surface-NMR measurements. Accurate estimation of harmonic interference parameters (i.e., fundamental frequency, phase and amplitude) leads to better retrieval of power-line harmonics and...

| Combined spatial and time-frequency signatures of signal arrivals at a multi-sensor array are used for nonstationary interference suppression in direct-sequence spread-spectrum (DS/SS) communications. With random PN spreading code and deterministic nonstationary interferers, the use of antenna arrays o ers increased DS/SS signal dimensionality relative to the interferers. Interference mitigat...
متن کاملConstrained Fast-time STAP Techniques for Interference Suppression in Multichannel SAR
Forming a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image while suppressing an airborne broadband jammer can potentially destroy large regions of the image. In addition to this, multipath reflections from the ground, known as hotclutter (HC) or terrain scattered interference will add a nonstationary interference component to the image. Using multiple antennas on a SAR provides spatial degrees of freedom a...
متن کاملNarrow-band interference suppression in direct sequence spread spectrum systems using a lattice IIR notch filter
This paper proposes an algorithm for the suppression of narrow-band interference in direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) systems, based on the open loop adaptive IIR notch filtering. The center frequency of the interference is monitored on-line by the adaptive lattice IIR notch filter in [6] or by time-frequency analysis in [3]. The power of the interference signal is also estimated from the ...
